Welcome Message

Dear friends:

It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you to the official Web  site for the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour of Rye, New York.  We have established this site in order to share the excitement of our growing community with the world!  The Orthodox Christian Church throughout the world shares in the very same confession of God and from this communion with Him we receive grace beyond our understanding.  It is this same grace and power that has carried the Orthodox Church throughout the centuries to the present!

The Church of Our Saviour celebrates the presence of Christ through the programs and activities that have been established for the Ecclesiastical Year. On a daily basis we are called to seek His will in order to shape us into His instruments of sacred and holy work. From education to philanthropy we have a very dynamic list of Christ centered plans in order to feed and challenge the diverse fellowship of the Church of Our Saviour.

So whether one is elected to the parish council for church order and administration or helps in the educational and youth programs, service is rendered to the Church. Participation in the Divine Liturgy either through altar service or choir, a gift is offered to God. Finally, through outreach and fellowship ministries, God shows each and everyone of us that love is to be shared with others. The possibilities are endless!

While living in the world we realize that all our programs are filled with excitement and zeal for delivering the  same redeeming message that all Orthodox Churches maintain about the Crucified and Risen Christ: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The programs and activities are here, now all we have to do is participate and enjoy the fruits and blessings that come from them. Looking forward to your participation and I thank you for visiting our site.

Faithfully Yours in Christ,

Father Elias
Parish Priest
