OUR INSPIRATION
Honoring Mothers at Our Annual Greek School Dinner Dance
This year the PTA team decided to honor mothers and mother figures as part of our yearly Hellenic School Dinner Dance Celebration. Mothers hold a cherished place in Greek culture, embodying love, strength, and devotion. They are the heart of the family, the pillars of our community, and the quiet force that ensures our traditions, language, and faith are passed down through generations.
At our Hellenic School, we see every day how mothers and mother figures dedicate themselves—not just to their own children but to our entire community. Whether through volunteering, supporting our school, or simply leading by example, they are instrumental in shaping the future of our students and preserving our heritage.
This event is a heartfelt tribute to the women who give so much of themselves to their families, our school, and our faith.
As we celebrate, we also look to Panagia, the Mother of All, who continues to guide us through our Greek Orthodox faith. Panagia's love, strength, and faith serve as an inspiration to all mothers, reminding us of the beauty and power of maternal devotion.
To all the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and mother figures in our community, thank you. Your love, your giving spirit, and your dedication are the foundation upon which our children grow. We are honored to celebrate you.
With gratitude,
The Hellenic School PTA Team

Welcome to the GOCOOS Hellenic School
The Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour Hellenic School offers classes for levels K-8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays during the academic year which typically runs from early September to early June. In addition to language development, students are introduced to Hellenic history, culture, customs, and traditions, and to the Greek Orthodox faith. The school was established shortly after the founding of the Church of Our Saviour in 1957, and it has continued to thrive thanks to our dedicated, experienced, and highly qualified teachers and administrators, as well as our committed PTA and School Board volunteers.
Classrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and whiteboards. In addition, all our students benefit from 30 minutes of traditional Greek dance instruction and 30 minutes of music instruction. Our school PTA organizes various cultural enrichment activities that further enhance the educational experience of all of our students.
Students in Level 8 have the opportunity to take the Comprehensive Examination in Modern Greek administered by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese every June. Students in Levels 7 & 8 can also sit for the Level A1, A2, and B1 Examination for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek, also known as the Ellinomatheia exam, which is offered by the Greek government each May.
